CONVERSION OF WASTE INTO REVENUE
Introduction:Environment is the wonderful gift given by mother Earth.Respecting Mother and Mother land should be the duty of every organism.But now a days mother Earth has been polluting by the human beings for their desires.I don’t know about other countries being an Indian,I would like to talk about improving waste management in my country.
Explanation:According to waste management we can find majorly two types of waste.One of them is biodigradable and another is non biodigradable.
Let us talk about biodigradable first. Being an Indian, In India nearly several million tonnes biodigradable waste generates per year. Waste management is better in India,but why don’t we turn it into profitable organisation . Let us look something new.In biodigradable waste we can split some waste according to our necessary for profitable work.
In part A,waste like kitchen waste,vegetable waste , fruits waste and animals dung ,some waste plants, dried leaves etc could be converted into organic fertilisers without chemicals by using earthworms, by collecting these waste regularly and packed fertilisers can be marketed for good and farmers friendly prices.This includes less investment too.That is also no problem for investment some specific municipalities/BBMPs are tendering for waste management, we can use that tendering amount as an investment.Let look through part B,the waste like wood pulps,paper/newspapers, cardboard boxes,sugarcane waste and some straws etc can be recollected and converted into tissue paper, toilet rolls,rough work pages,cardboard materials and plywood. These items also can get profit if there is good marketing. That’s all from the side of biodigradable.
Leather and Rubber products are biodigradable, but they took many years (nearly 50years) to decompose. Rubber materials like tire,mats etc are crushed and in certain heat it can be moulded into rubber tails, rubber mats, etc. Leather materials like leather belt,leather shoes etc,if it is pure it can be included to make fertilisers but now a days leather are not pure it can be used in preparation of tar for road construction and it can be used in small quantity in preparation of glue plasters (cello tape).
Clothes:we can find many waste cloths it can be recycled and make materials like quilts, kuvdhies etc and even it can also be used to make bed.(to fill inside and make soft and comfortable) it requires sufficient of water supplies.
Let us come to non biodigradable waste. We can find nearly several million tonnes of non biodegradable waste generates per year in India. In non biodegradable waste we find major problem in disposal of plastic. Plastic is the material which will stay as it is without any changes in the soil for many years (nearly 1000years).Plastic should not burn directly because direct burning leads to respiratory disorders by environmental air pollution,due to release of oxides like NO3,CO2,CO…etc which are harmful and even cause ozone depletion(Even tires should not be burn directly ). But plastic (even tire/rubber materials) can be remoulded to deserved shapes by melting it in a metal container at 338 degree faranite/170 degree Celsius. We can melt from plastic covers to large plastic products through injecting moulding. This process by taking all together in a container. This is cheaper too, if we neglect some labour charges. There is a very good demand for polymeric products in market too.
The another non biodigradable are metallic waste. Metallic waste like iron, copper, aluminium, gold, silver etc,are malleable and ductail and good conductor of heat and electricity. Therefore we can change into required shape and size by heating and they could be resold. However the metals like gold and silver are rare we find in garbage.I had just taken them as an examples.We can separate the metal waste with the help of metal detectors easily .
Glass materials :Even glass waste also easily remoulded with certain procedures. Transperent nature of glass has been taken a huge demand in sectors of industries has an food containers , they are also used widely in laboratories in the form of test tubes,beakers, pepet, watch glass etc. They are also used in vehicle manufacturing industries as a mirror, front and side glass .Even in medical manufacturing industries as an container for serups and vaccines etc.
Medical waste :Medical waste includes both biodigradable and non biodegradable but these should be carefully recycled because their might be a chance of infection. So we need to look out it carefully. Let us look the biodigradable medical waste. Biodigradable medical wastes like used cotton, used bandages, expired medicine (tablets/serup ) should be decomposed. Before the decomposition of used cotton and bandages should be boild at least 15min in water at more than 100 degree Celsius which will help to destroy infectious bacteria/viruses. Then the decomposition can be used with fertilisers
Non biodigradable medical waste like syringe needle,syringe tube, plastic syrup/vaccines bottles, surgical instruments etc. Before recycling the syringe needle,surgical instruments etc should be boiled in water with more than 100 degree Celsius which distroy infectents and then surgical instruments and needle (metal) it can be recycled as mentioned above. Plastic serup/vaccines bottles, syringe tube(plastic) it can also be recycled as mentioned above. Glass materials also recycled as mentioned above.
Conclusion : Not only this much, there are more wastes we can find like electronic waste, drainage waste etc. We could not underestimate even a single particle. Every single particle as its own unique ability . Thus we need to find new ideas with researchers and experiments . We need to try together to keep our surrounding clean and healthy. In order to collection of garbages by educating people will help us to keep our surroundings clean and healthy. We need to understand patience is not the sign of weakness/helplessness. The mother Earth is the most patience in universe, don’t even try to break her patience.
