Disposing garbage is a very important work to do in our daily lives. Garbage is a very serious issue in many countries because it has a lot of negative impacts on the environment. The only way to solve this issue is through garbage management policies. Every human being has to believe that their garbage is their responsibility and each and everyone is responsible for their own garbage.
The main focus of ‘My waste my responsibility ‘ should be to not burden the landfills with unsegregated, non recyclable and non biodegradable waste. The mission should start from the homes of every individual . At home we must manage our own garbage. We must separate bio-degradable waste from non -biodegradable ones . Keeping in mind about the negative impacts of waste, we should clean our homes premises along with outside areas of our house.We should be responsible enough not to generate a lot of waste. We should avoid plastics ,buy food with minimal packaging and compost our kitchen waste. Childrens of each household should be educated regarding pollution of air and water so that they become responsible enough regarding home waste management.
Everyone should practice different processes like composting, recycling ,incineration. In cities ,every society should form a group of like minded people and explain waste segregation to their families and neighbors . There should be storage drums in front of every household for the the waste .
Industrial waste is the most common problem all over the world. Thousands and thousands of companies all over the world produce a lot of waste which includes dust, dirt, gravel, oil, solvents, chemicals and even vegetable matter. Industrial wastes are solid, liquid and gaseous. The hazardous waste are toxic, reactive or corrosive. These toxins have a lot of negative impact on the environment. They affect human beings as well as marine bodies. So the industrialists should be responsible enough to know where they are sending their waste and take steps to ensure that they contract to collect and manage their waste. They should take their waste to legal disposal, treatment and recycling sites. The government have launched the waste duty care to ensure that the legal rules of waste management are followed by the industries in India. In the US, the companies are recognising to remove the problem of waste. They are raising funds to recycle enterprises and has adopted various strategies to eradicate waste problem.
Moreover every household should consider this mother earth as their home. They should held themselves responsible for it’s cleanliness. They should take all the waste products as their responsibility. For example : Everyone should aim at keeping the streets, the parks, the museums,the public toilets, the public transport etc clean. They should not for a second think that they are free to dispose their fmgarbage anywhere they like because these are not their own properties. Many non- profit organisations have opened up to support the cause of ‘My waste my responsibility ‘
Now- a – days , ‘My waste my responsibility ‘ is the mantra of many NGO’s that aim at having cities without dumpsites. One of them is No Dumping which is working in the field of waste management since 2016. From ate collection to segregation to processing and safe disposal of waste ,the NGO not only handles waste efficiently but bring harmony among people.
People should no t burden the wastes with un-degradable,non biodegradable and non recyclable waste. A lot of such waste is incurred during parties and weddings. Everyone should opt for
eco- friendly things for such events. They should be responsible enough to dispose the waste materials properly qnd clean the location after the event. The waste should be collected from the apartments or event location and should be segregated into three board categories which includes organic waste, inorganic waste and sanitary waste. Similar method should be applied in aiprots, railway stations and bus stands .The mantra of 3R’s i.e Reuse, Recycle and Reduce should be followed.
A research was carried out in Canada and various meseaures have been drawn to support the cause of ‘My waste my responsibility ‘.People were asked to adopt backyard disposal options i .e the organic waste should be disposed in their own backyard which will benefit them .The second important thing which was found is Recycling. People shouldn’t recycle as much waste as they possibly can through drop-off buy backs or curbside recylcling.
Taking responsibility also includes our responsiblilty rewards the government. That means we should pay some price to the garbage disposal services .We should never deny our taxes towards the government because they are making the job of garbage disposing useful to us. Allowing ourselves to acknowledge that were are responsible for that waste is not shameful unless we are harming the environment through our waste.
At last but not the least we should never be careless with our disposal of gross stuff. We should sort our waste and fulfill our responsibility. This is the least we can do to save our environment and conserve our resources. We should remember that it is easy, peasy ,simple and also crucial for our own life cycle .
