It is very difficult to take some responsibilities on our shoulders. Among them the one which we never mind till day and the most important is the wastes that we make and that make us.
Waste is always a matter of concern as it not just affects an individual but affects a society as a whole. We are very familiar with the wastes that we make like the plastic, rotten vegetables and fruits, food leftovers, damaged or destroyed gadgets etc.which we are ‘ taking care of’ nicely by dumping it here and there, on others plots and burning.
But how aware are we about the ‘wastes’that make us? The wastes that we dump on others which finally reach us. Yes you got it right, I am talking about our minds, our thoughts, our views. We are ready to take the responsibility of material wastes when forced by others. But we never pay attention to our inner wastes even for the sake of others. We know we should respect other to respect ourselves. We know that alcohol, cigarettes and illegal drugs are injurious to health. We know plastics are dangerous to the Earth, our mother. We know we should help others. But apart from knowing these tiny things which make huge changes, we never ever follow them even try to follow them.
Gandhiji said that ‘there is enough for our need but not for our greed’. This is becoming more and more appropriate for this world as everyone is just indulged in their own world and no one cares about anyone even the mother who birthed them or the mother who meets their all needs.
In this selfish world the most selfish will only survive! But the after effects of this greed is evident from the increasing natural disasters from floods to recent Burevi cyclone and incredibly increasing crimes and inhumane actions.
Nothing much to say, let’s just try to be a little human and not a beast. Let’s not be judgemental and just be normal. Let’s be selfish on being selfless. And hope to grow mentally and morally.
