“My waste,my responsibility” is the mantra for No dumping a non-profit organization that aims at having clean and hygiene cities without dumpsites. It is a change in the paradigm of waste management. Waste management includes the activities and actions required to manage waste from it’s inception to it’s final disposal
Each one of a individual must be responsible for our own garbage. At home we must manage our own garbage. We must separate biodegradable waste from non- biodegradable waste. The cities and towns must have highly advanced garbage treatment plans to preserve the beauty and purity of the environment. Earlier backyard garbage combustion was legal in some parts of the country which was a major contributar to air pollution,so it got banned in the country. The role of students and staff about waste management is also very important to make sure to use the recycling bins are maintend cleanly and that the items which go into it are cleaned before going into the bin.
Green ,blue and red are the three bins which is needed to sort the waste, and fulfill our responsibility, it’s such a simple deed.
The Green bin is for food waste, vegetable and fruit peels, also the food leftovers from our meals into into the green bin.
The Blue bin is meant for the non- biodegradable waste, such as Plastic, metal, food wrappers and also all kind of paper staples. All this waste can be recycled and reused .
The Red bin is for reject waste, nothing much can be done with it.Hair, nails, diapers, sanitary waste, medical leftovers and their bits.
Always remember the five mantras of “REDUCE,REUSE,RECYCLE,RECOVER,RESIDUAL management”. By practicing them, we can conserve own very own natural resources, it’s crucial for our life to sustain on this planet. The waste we generate is our responsibility, this is the least we can do.
“The core idea behind this initiative is Cities without dumpsites”. We should work together to reduce waste that reaches to landfills which indirectly saves resources and saves our beautiful environment by not getting polluted. We should also avoid the use of plastics in wedding , parties etc and go back to the traditional way of using banana leaf etc.
” Let’s stop using plastics in the name of weddings”
It’s very simple, straight, easy, peasy to follow these ideas to preserve our environment…
