Plastic: From Waste to Wealth

Plastic from being one of the most useful things back in the 1900s and now being the biggest problem for all kinds of life on earth. It is non-biodegradable and one of the biggest forms of waste on the earth. There are tons of plastic in the oceans endangering roughly 256 types of species there and putting the natural food chain at risk. Currently, tons of plastic dumped into the seas and the oceans every year without thinking about the outcome.
Since plastic is the most prevalent in making day to day things, from handbags to toys for small children and it’s the biggest form of waste on land as well as in the seas and has the highest risk of ruining the life on earth as we know it and we human beings are also part of it.
So now that we know what’s the big deal about plastic let’s talk about ways to treat it and make significant wealth from it. The most famous and prevalent way is Recycling and, one of the best ways to purify our environment and also create a significant amount of wealth to help the “Economy” of a country or a particular company. It is also a proven fact that we can create wealth out of waste since most of the countries and many private firms doing this. Small and developing countries can be profited by this and, these countries can use the money produced from it to make themselves more efficient in every field and help its citizens.
For Example, Vengurla Taluka, a half-hour drive from Goa, India isn’t just a pristine beach drawing people but the Vengurla municipality which generating electricity from natural gas created by waste and creating roads is drawing the attention of people all over the world and make them wonder how these people are doing this. Thousands of people from all over the world every year come there to experience it first handly.
If all the Governments all over the world starts creating more and more plants for this, it will become one of the best ways for saving our planet and all the endangered species by continuing our daily life, but as of know if we talk about India, Particularly in India, there are many roads made of transformed plastic but not as much required since we are one of those nations which are putting very less effort in creating energy from waste(as forecasted for 2020-2025).
Now if talking about the whole world Middle-East and Africa are leading our way in creating energy from waste(as forecasted for 2020-2025). Is it worth wasting money and time in making energy from Plastic? The answer is yes because making energy from plastic as particular or waste as a whole is far superior to generating energy from fossil fuels since we will be cleaning our mess which is called plastic.
There is a saying, ”Human Beings are like viruses for the earth, first they will suck onto everything it has to give until it dies out and then they will move on to another host. ” But we as a whole species can prove it wrong by just starting small with creating energy from Plastic. We can stop using daily things made of plastic-like handbags and water bottles and start using alternatives for these like using refillable bottles rather than use and throw ones. Since now that the whole world is on common ground on the matter of making useful energy out of waste particularly plastic, I am optimistic that we the Homosapiens(in a simple form, Human Beings) will learn from our mistakes and will never repeat the mistake of producing a non-biodegradable substance at this rate as we have done with plastic, and we will transform each piece of plastic to the energy and will save our planet.
