*Plastic : From Waste To Wealth*
Plastic is the most dangerous enemy of mankind and even the earth which is itself a living organism whose health is declining day by day. It is because of the most dangerous animal which is no one else than man himself. It is because of our unlimited wants that our earth has now become a patient. We all are thinking about our luxurious life without thinking what is gonna be happened with our earth in future. Now we need a system based on partnership and not on domination.
Our Responsibility :-
Our government has always been taking steps to reduce the use of single use plastic. According to companies act 2013,CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) has been made compulsory for the business organizations. But is it enough to convert plastic as a waste into wealth,of course not, steps have to be taken by all of us, the general public, as we Indians, believe in VASUDHAIV KUTUMBAKAM,this idea should be followed in case of waste management too. If we really start working on this value then for sure we can eliminate pollution caused by single use plastic . We all want to keep our houses clean but this feeling should also be there when it comes to keep our society, our city, our country and the whole world so clean as much as we can. After doing this only we can prove that we really consider the whole world as our family.
Steps Taken By Government :-
Our respected Prime Minister – Shri Narendra Modi has taken so many steps to reduce the use of single use plastic, he also took an initiative to clean our country by the name – SWACHHA BHARAT MISSION , in this, he gave the message of keeping India clean by himself starting cleaning our country, many people added with him in this initiative and it is helping a lot in making our country a better place to live but much more efforts are still required.
Now it’s the time to take oath not to use single use plastic and refuse to take plastic bags if any shopkeeper offers us. The change starts from us. When our country was facing serious food crisis, our former Prime Minister Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri requested people to bring change in their eating habits and started the same from his own family. Similarly, each one of us can take a first step in case of plastic too.
Best Out Of Waste from Plastic :-
We need not feel powerless or overwhelmed by the scale of the problems because there are many things we can do to make a difference. Nowadays each one of us has come across 5 R’s to save the environment.
These are REFUSE, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE and REPURPOSE. Among these REUSE ( Things made up of plastic can be used again and again. For example, we can use plastic bottles again and again instead of throwing them), RECYCLE ( It means collecting plastic items and recycling these materials to make required things instead of synthesising or extracting fresh plastic) and REPURPOSE ( This means when a product can no more be used for the original purpose, it can be used for some other useful purpose) are the best ways to convert plastic into wealth.
To Sum Up :-
It’s the duty of all of us to take initiatives to convert plastic as a waste into wealth and reduce the use of single use plastic as much as we can to make our earth the best place for all the organisms to survive.
We have to realise – – ‘ARE WE TO LEAVE OUR SUCCESSORS A SCORCHED PLANET OF ADVANCING DESERTS, IMPOVERISHED LANDSCAPES AND AILING PLANET ?’
