‘Waste Management’ signifies the step taken to manage waste from its inception to its final disposal. How waste management discovered to be a point of focus for scientists this can be thoroughly understood by waste management of nature, maintained by itself to make a balanced ecosystem.
The petroleum and coal that we are frequently using now a days are the decomposed form of dead bodies of animals and grass of cretaceous era. Additionally, decomposed body of small creatures, shit, cow dung etc. waste is also useful for land and rich crops. In this context there are some question arising that- How it can be done? What are the advantages? What are the problems and solutions? Let’s know.
How it is done: It is comprises various steps given below:-
i) Collection:- The first step is to collect foods i.e. waste materials from agricultural, domestic and other fields to make clean and healthy environment.
ii) Transport:- Carrying of goods from it’s original place to the Industries where further treatment and operation is done.
iii) Treatment:- It is the most dynamic part of the ‘WM’. It involves different of step depending on the subject. For Example: source reduction and reuse, animal feeding, recycling, compositing, firm enation landfills, Incineration, dump in sanitary landfills, Bioremediation, Plasm a Gasification.
iv) In the final step disposal of waste together with monitoring and regulation of waste is done.
i) Waste management technique is highly is highly lucrative.
ii) Saves the environment and conserves energy.
iii) Save life of small creatures.
iv) Reduces pollution.
v) Creates employment.
vi) Recycling helps to conserve natural resources such as glass, plastic, paper and oil.
• What are the Problems:-
Disposing of waste has tremendous environment imports and can cause serious problems. Some of the waste will eventually rat, but not all, in the process it may smell or generate methane gas which contributes greenhouse effect. On the other hand toxic materials of waste can kill off living ad pollute bodies of water such as river and lakes.
The scale of waste management problem is massive and rapidly growing in India due to lack of collection, transport and treatment. Many cities are still not begun even segregating waste of the household level.
• What are the Solution:
On the domestic level use of two dustbin red, for wet waste materials and green, for dry waste material, can be good way of waste management In addition to this ‘5 R+ MANTRA’ can be marvellous step to lower down the pressure over management. It is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, and Residual management.
Following the abovementioned solution with implementation and consistent practice of 5R communities and local authorities as well as state will not only be able to manage waste but also move in the way of achieving ‘zero waste’.
Conclusion:- Many companies of India such as Antony Waste Holding Cell Pvt. Ltd. Eco Wise Vermigold, Synergy Waste Management (p) Ltd. Are trying their best to solve the problem of waste management. According to WHO by improving in Solid waste management we can control 22 types of disease.
Indian government taking a solid step towards made “solid waste management rule 2016” in which it become compulsory to sperate bio gradable and non- biography solid. So that bio-gradable solid can be recycled.
India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi also pronounced by his speech, to bring awareness in all people of all the communities so that can step towards the ‘SWATCH BHARAT MISSION’. It is our moral duty to play our best role in this MISSION in this pandemic.
